Peñon Diving Adventure

Peñon is a beautiful reef in front of the national park. Peñon means rock and is named after the rocks on the side walls. Here you can find one of the best dive sites of the Dominican Republic. It is further away than our local dive sites, but it is very worth it!

We meet at our dive shop and everybody makes sure they have their equipment, our team will help you get the right gear and we will load everything on the boat while you meet your dive/snorkel guide and get the dive briefing of the day.

The boat ride itself is beautiful and will take about 40 minutes. There are 3 different dive sites (Peñon 1, 2 & 3) and they are shallow and easy dive sites (12 - 18m / 36 - 54ft). These dive sites are for every type of diver, from beginner to experienced. We do two dives and try to see as much as possible of the 3 sites during this half day excursion (drift dives).

The corals have beautiful colors and forms and you can find moray eels, crabs, lobsters, sting rays and many different fish (for example parrot fish, angel fish, trunk fish and puffer fish). There is also a possibility to spot sea turtles, seahorses and nurse sharks.

We leave with our customized diving boats around 09:00 AM, and do two dives with a surface interval in between. All our dives are guided in small groups. We do a 45-50 minute dive, probably a drift dive due to current. During the surface interval we head to the second dive site (very close by). You don’t have to worry about your tank and the equipment; we change your tank and get everything ready for the second dive. You can relax, enjoy the fresh fruit, muffins and drinks we offer and share your dive stories with the rest of the group.

After the second dive we head back to the dive center around 01:30/02:00 PM. At the dive center we can help you with filling out your logbook.
